Technically "Data East USA, Inc", this Japanese-based company (of which the USA company was the American branch) was responsible for many classic games in the late 80's and 90's. Although probably best known for their releases in arcades and on the Nintendo Entertainment System, they also published on numerous other platforms, including MS-DOS. By December 1996, the company's US division had been quietly closed and liquidation had begun.
