Founded in 1982 by George Lucas as Lucasfilm Games, LucasArts created and published many games based on Lucasfilm properties, as well as original titles. They were probably best known for their original graphical adventure games such as the Monkey Island series, Maniac Mansion, and Full Throttle, as well as many Star Wars games on a variety of platforms. After acquisition of Lucasfilm by the Walk Disney Company, LucasArts ceased to operate as a video game developer as of April 2013.
