I tried with a PCI-Motherboard an I put inside a Matrox Millennium PCI with 4 MB of memory... the results were better, but Big Red Racing was still very slow. Then I tried with a S3 Trio 64V+ with 2 MB and the games ran quite well but, again, Big Red Racing was quite slow. The minimum requirements s...

Thanks a lot. I have replaced the integrated battery with another, similar to the batteries that you can find in watches, and now the bios is still keeping the information.

Thanks, i used an ISA controller, but now the BIOS doesn't keep the informations. I must use an external battery. I will connect 2x 1.5 Volts - 2350 Ah batteries. I will see if it works.

What's the fastest video card for DOS games?

At the moment, I'm using an Intel 486 DX-4/100, with 40 MB RAM, 2 GB WD HDD, Sound Blaster AWE32 (very, very long!), 56K modem and a Cirrus Logic GD 5428 Vesa video Card (1 MB ). Duke Nukem 3d, using a better resolution than 320x200, runs quite slow. Big Red Racing, also, runs at very few frames per...

I used 32-bit colour with a Maxtrox G200 with 8 MB of memory.
I used 16-bit colour also with a S3 Trio64V+ with 1 MB of memory without any problems.
So in my opinion it is'n possible that i cannot set my ET4000 at least at 65000 colours.

This evening I will try it. My TSENG ET4000AX is better than an integrated Cirrus Logic?

Both of them have 1 MB of video memory... The Cirrus can use 16-bit colour but the Tseng doesn't go over 256 colours. Is there any way to make true color working?

I also have modem, which gives me the possibility to surf the web with Windows 95. I tried to use Duke Nukem 3D... the game r...

And what about video card? The integrated-Cirrus Logic video card isn't too bad for dos games, but the Motherboard has got a Vesa local bus slot not used. If i put in a VLB card, will I notice better performances? If not, which ISA video card would you suggest me to put in?

So, in your opinion, the motherboard is broken, in some ways... well, I will throw it away! Turning off the fdd is impossible, because the System BIOS in the Prolinea models is installed on the HDD!!!

Help, my 386 can't start

Hi, there is a problem on my Compaq ProLinea 3/25zs, with a i386SX-25 MHz CPU, 4 MB RAM and HD Quantum 540 MB. When turning on the system, the monitor views the video BIOS and system BIOS information, and then shows "601-Diskette controller error". I tried everything, from changing the FDD...

I want to build a 386-system

I want to build a 386 PC. But... what socket shall I use? I'm trying to find a motherboard for it, but I actuallt don't know if socket 2 and 3 are correct: if I correctly remember, the socket 2 and 3 were for the 486 cpu. Again, will Windows 95B run on a 386DX-20 MHz, 16 MB RAM, 1 GB SCSI HD, and 2x...
