Hello everybody!
I landed here in a attempt to find a old game, no one on any italian forum seems to remember of it and i'm starting to think that it didn't even exist!!
The protagonist was a...white square, and squares were the enemies, but they were differently coloured depending on the type of enemy the were (i seem to remember blue, green, red ones...and then bloodworms made of red circles).
He could pick up ammos, weapons, dynamite, keys...
The levels were built up with coloured squares, i remember a lot of blue and red; and they were quite long, not in a single screen.
The vision was from the top, but you could see the protagonist and the enemies' faces frontally.
ehm, I know my artistic skilss suck, but, here you are a terrible drawing representing what i can remember of the game:

If this can help, i had installed it from a game compilation i bought around 1999, and it was a shareware.
HELP!
ps. a guy told me that my drwaing reminds him of nintendo. i played it on the pc but i'm not 100% sure that it wasn't originally for a console.
HELP! Old game i can't remember...
Cool drawing! Looks like my kind of game, though I don't have any guesses offhand.
It does look like a graphical roguelike (something like Castle of Winds) or one of many early RPGs similar to but less graphical than the Ultimas
Do you remember if it was turn based (you move, then they move) or realtime (they always move), and if it was more RPG level-up style or just action survive-and-kill-them-all?

ahah thanks!
it was realtime, and you had to kill all the enemies and survive!
i can't remember there was a place to reach to get to the following level, or if you just had to kill all the enemies on the map.
maybe you had a little map indicating the enemies, something like in Lemmings? but i'm not sure.
if only i could find my 2 cds again!
