Other Problem with playing
Okay I did all these steps, everything worked out until I wanted to play the game.
The Error:
C:\RAYMAN\RAYMAN.EXE
X#=0D, CS=00C7 IP=00002028. The NTVDM CPU has encountered an unhandled exception. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
What can I do?

Best create an ISO (or Bin/Cue) image and mount that directly in dosbox with imgmount
Modern hardware is not really suited anymore to run those old CD games, luckily the dosbox devs implemented image mounting.
http://www.imgburn.com/ is all you need to create valid ISOs or Bin/Cue images to use with dosbox.

please help me??
i'm using DOSbox 0.74. I do have the original Rayman CD. When I press "Install", it says "ERROR: CONFIG.EXE not find", and I|ve tried to launch CONFIG.EXE from DOSbox, but then I|m asked to launch "INSTALL.BAT". When I do, it says "Please install directly from the CD-ROM" or something, but that's not working when I'm using Windows 7 x64. I've also made a ".BIN"-file called "RAYMAN.BIN" through ImgBurn, and I try to type
imgmount d c:\rayman\rayman.bin
..but then it says:
Could not extract drive geometry from image.
Use parameter -size bps, spc, hpc, cyl to specify the geometry.
What does this mean ? Can someone please help me???

And your mount lines are ...????
Details please.
Also: you do NOT-NEVER mount the CD image bin file but the cue file..
Looking at your post it should be something as:
imgmount d c:\rayman\rayman.cue -t cdrom
Notice the -t cdrom command line option, tells dosbox it's a CD image and to mount it as a CD drive accessed through MSCDEX .
Details please.

Still need that info from you, really.dosraider wrote:And your mount lines are ...????

Certainly as you're on Win7/64.
So:
Vitrual C: mount line?
CD image mount line?
If by this you mean that your path in Windows is 'C:/rayman/thegame' : not good, even with full admin rights (something you should NOT do ! ) the outcome under Win7/64 is unpredictable.PianoDiego wrote:The directory is C:/rayman/thegame
BTW, did you read/applied this: http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13511

Full Screen
I have downloaded DOSBox and gone through all of the steps, but when I try to run the install program from the CD, it says that it can't run in full screen mode and closes. How do I fix this?
Re: Full Screen
You're not in dosbox.Frat_Kat wrote:... it says that it can't run in full screen mode and closes.
That's a Windows error message, not a dosbox message.
Read the tutorials.

Hmmmm, typical dosbox error message, indicates your mount line is wrong, or has typoooz.Frat_Kat wrote:.... it says "the image must be on a host or local drive"
If I move the image to the 'oldgames' folder and try to load it, it says "image file not found"
What am I doing wrong?
"Image" is a bit vague, please post the exact names and extension of the image.
Also, gonna need some relevant details to find out where you go wrong:
Dosbox version?
OS?
Post your windows path to the image.(Full path, detailed, please)
Post your dosbox mount lines (full mount lines, detailed, please)
Can also help: a screenshot of dosbox error message, hit CTRL+F5 to take one, you'll find the shot in dosbox start menu 'extra'.

I gonna guess you have a c:\rayman.cue ànd a c:\rayman.bin? (You should have both to have a valid CD image)
If yes move them to:
c:\users\paul\oldgames\ (BOTH files)
Always avoid using c:\ (root) in Win7.
Your dosbox mount lines then should be:
mount c c:\users\paul\OldGames
imgmount d c:\users\paul\oldgames\rayman.cue -t cdrom
Install game from D: on C: in dosbox.

Rayman Gold CD
Hello, I know this thread is quite old, but this is the only hope I have. I have had the Rayman gold disc for a year or two, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I tried following all the steps that you posted and I still cant get it to work. Once I type "mount d E:\ -t CDrom" my disc just buzzes around and then stops, and when I click on the Rayman Gold icon, it just does what it normally does, comes up saying "none of these options will work on your system configuration, do you want some details?"
When I click yes, it says that there is not enough disc space :c

Hello, could you at least tell us what your OS is???
Also:
If you click on an icon you're doing something completely wrong, there are no icons to click in dosbox.
First: read the pinned tutorials
Second: read through this topic again, I think all is already said.
