Adventure/Sci-fi side-view, 2D game [Bud Redhead]

I only remember the demo , because i couldn't buy it back then:
the story begins with you and your gf walking in the park, then suddenly some alien appears and kiddnaps your gf...then the loading screen was a tree with dots under it.. And I remember a part where was a fountain and above it was a tree and inside the tree was a squirrel, which threw you with some hazelnuts..thats all I remember

ah and the main character had brown hair

Around what year did you play?
Long shot, but this reminds me of Commander Keen "Aliens ate my Babysitter". That's a platformer, or is the game more of an adventure game?
