It depends on what kind of game you want!
Although i have never used it before i have heard MegaZuex is good!

Try gammaker, it's a click and drag game creator, so it's prefect for a newbie! And it also has a programming language, which you can use when you're ready (you don't need it to make a game)

Are you sure ripster? When i used gamemaker (v5.2 latest one i used) you had to use some kind of trigger or programming script to make the game "playable".

I've got the latest version of it (5. something) and it works fine, without any actual programming needed.

Any 3-d engines that require some programming? (preferrably one that I can download off of Limewire... I know-- I just don't want to spend $200 or more just to find out I don't want to have this)
