There is music, and a very nice one too. Unfortunately, to enjoy it properly you will need to play in pure DOS. You can use VDMSound or DOSBox to have the music play, but it might suffer from tempo losses and cause glitches and slowdowns in the gameplay.

I HAVE IT! I got the Skyroads music in Wave Format! heh heh heh [email protected] if you are interested... nm that. Get DOS BOX and run it through there. IGNORE the fact that the music sounds like crap. Hit CONTROL + F6 and it will start recording the music. When you play it back, it will play as normal. So then you can play it on the side while you're playing the game w/o DOS BOX. I only want one music track out of there, but E-mail me if you have further questions or comments. Frameskip should always be on 10.

Hey, it's me again... Two things I should point out. 1) If the E-mail address [email protected] does not work, it is because I finally got around to killing it and switching over to [email protected]. Try JustWill first. If you don't get an error message back, I'm still there, and will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
Item #2. Do you have ANY IDEA how big .wav files can get...?? I have 6 tracks, plus the game intro music, in wave file. For those who like details, the music plays at 22Mhz or some such, and for those of us who don't know that, it means I can NOT convert it to MP3. I could only do it at 2x normal speed or 1/2 normal speed. So they are stuck as wave files till someone figures out how to do it.
Item #3. The tracks play at random during the game. If they are numbered, it's only because I listed them according to personal favorites and no other reason... Now, tracks are as follows: Skyroads intro: 13,316kb, Track 1: 10,053kb, track 2: 12,394kb, track 3: 9,368kb, track 4: 16,247kb, track 5: 15,202kb, track 6: 5,290kb, all tracks total: 83,831kb
If you don't know, that's about 5MB-13MB for each track, and about 83MB for all of them. Now you can see where I MIGHT have a problem E-MAILING THEM to you. Yahoo only allows 10MB OR LESS to be sent, even though it can hold 1,000MB of files and such. I ask people to get on AIM and IM me, but nobody cares. And even if they did, they'd have to know to IM me at RareGoodHelp. Oh, well all I have to do now is get them to install AIM.
For the guy who said upload them... Upload. 83MB of files. Sure thing pal, where? Actually, if you didn't know, the music tracks are designed to loop and play over and over. I haven't editted all of them to do that yet. You'd notice when it reaches the end and starts over. I doubt anyone will care. I guess your biggest problem, is telling me how to effectively make the files smaller so that I might be able to send them out. And YEAH, I've ALREADY tried using Win Zip and Win Rar to compress them. No good.
And FINALLY, LAST issue of the day... Look at the last posting, then look at my reply. This should tell you how often I check the forum. This should tell you WHY I gave out my E-mail address. Where's the button to E-mail me when I get replies to this forum? Wait, there isn't one! Seeing as how I've recieved several E-mails, I'll try to check back more often. However, before you bother E-mailing me to ask for the music, understand that you're not going to get it. It's not that I don't want to give it to you. I don't know HOW to SEND it to you. When you E-mail me, please offer some helpful suggestions. That would be nice. I think that about covers it. Have a nice day or whatever timezone you're in...

Well, I have an update. I think that I have found a way to send the files, reguardless of size. Also, I believe that I have someone working on an MP3 version of them for me. If that works out, I'll be able to get perfect copies of the music tracks made up in MP3 format. Which will make the music probably take 1/10th of the space I need now. Which will make it very easy to send out to people... I think that's about all I have to say at the moment. Remember the Alamo! Oh, uhm, I meant, remember the E-mail. lol

Hey Baron Bill.
there is one software named "dBPowerAMP" she can make WAV to MP3 format, try it:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

And don't forget the Windows Media Audio codec, to convert WMA, WAV etc.

Bring us the MP3 Tracks after, thanks!

It's me again. I have some other projects going on, actually outside the computer, so I'll try to get this done as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I'll try the program with the link when I get a chance and see how that works out. Thanks for the suggestions, and I'll check back later.

Um you can download the full version & the special Xmas version here:

http://www.bluemoon.ee/history/skyroads/index.html

I don't know if there's a Flash or Java version that you can play online ... if there is such a version, I've never seen it ... :shifty:
