How to run in Alone In The Dark (part 1)

How do I get my character to run in AITD part 1? I could have sworn that the last time I played this, there was a way to run.

Also is there a site besides Underdogs that offers old manuals for games?

The only time I've been able to run, is by accident. Never figured out how.

I haven't played this game in YEARS... last time I played it I was wowed b/c it looked real

Neither works. I can't believe someone is trying to scan and post the old manuals on the web. Crazy!

I've tried a LOT of key combos, nothing seems to work.

The actual way to run is to double click forward, and it was real sensative and piss you off alot. But yeah, double tap and hold forward
