Only if you wish for it to be. Currently, I only ban people if they are 1. consistently breaking the rules, 2. Pose a danger to our users or 3. are just generally a pest.
BTW, THIS HAPPENS TO BE MY TOPIC!! I CAN POST OFF TOPIC IF I WANT TO!
1. Posting in this forum is a *privilege* not a right. I am under no obligation whatsoever to allow you to continue posting if you don't follow our rules.

2. Just because you created this post doesn't mean you own it.

3. (just because I've seen morons using before) The First Amendment of the U.S. constitution do not apply here for two reasons, A. this isn't a U.S. website and B. this is a *private* message board, the 1st Amendment only applies to public matters. This means you effectively have no right to speak freely, simply a privilege to do so as granted by the owner of this site.

In any case, this has nothing to do with our current topic so, for the sake of being courteous to other users who don't give a fuck about this and wish to continue discussing the subject of the post, could we continue this conversation in another topic devoted to the issue at hand or (preferably) PM/IM?

Da_Goat commented that is has the belief that he shouldn't date until he is ready to marry, and being 15 doesn't think he is. I respect this, but dating when at school isn't nessecarily to find a partner for life, it's to gain experience. Letting someone know you as well as a partner does isn't always easy, getting on with someone who is becoming that close to you isn't easy. So it's all about learning, and it can be a lot of fun, sometimes not so, but that's all part of the learning.

Someone else also remarked that "Thats the kinda people we are" meaning that because we like computers and computer games people won't date us I assume. If I assume wrong please don't take offense, just let me know and I will apoligise. But if I am right then I am quite happy to report that this statement is faulse. I have a lot of friends who love computers, they have all had boyfriends/girlfriends and some have been with them for over a year. It's all about confidence, if you think that people won't like you because you likw computers, then it will be so, a change of attitude could be in order when it comes to dating I think.

I am currently seeing someone. We have been together for a while now. I am only 19 ( I guess older than most of you) and I love computers, so these excuses are just that, excuses.

well, my belief is strong.......it's not like I don't talk to girls and stuff, I just don't date them. My religion also has something to do with it, so I'm not just making up excuses.

And, I think what JTA meant is that some of us are geeks that only feel safe around online people and are too afraid to as much as talk to girls, and therefore couldn't date. I'm not one of them, as I stated above.

Besides, I would date if I was 19....I think I'd be ready to marry.

see, I can understand if religion plays a part in this, but as BIF said, saying that is often an excuse. I've known people who said that, no offense but because no one would go out with them. I was like a huge dork till 6/7th, but I didn't want to be always picked on and all that and turned my life around and now have many friends, an awesome girlfriend, and a lot better life! Don't say your waiting till marraige, dating is meant to be "practice" for when your married. You can't get married and never have a kiss!! Girls will be VERY intimidated if your: "dating-to-marraige!" You NEED expierence! Trust me on this one guys!

I understand that religion has a lot to do with these situations. But as Winger2 said, girls are going to be very intimidated by the fact that, well, you are dating them so consider them wife and mother material, I know that I would be.
I'm sure that no religion states that you can't take a girl out at all unless you plan to marry her. Taking her out doesn't mean that you have to sleep with her either, and I think that this is where a lot of people get it wrong.
As for people being more comfortable talking to people via the net, well things will never change unless you want them to. If you can have good conversations with people on the net then there is no reason to think that people wouldn't like to talk to you in person. You just have to be confident. I guess confidence is the root of social activity really.

Oh, but I couldn't think about getting married yet! I'm only 19! If you are married when you are 19 or 20 then PM me and I will have to congratulate you, you are braver than I. Personally I haven't got the life experiences that I would like to have before I got married at the moment, things like knowing lots of different people and there quirks (then nothing can come as a shock I guess) and travell, this with a partner would be great though.

As per normal I have blabbed on enough. Once more I hope that I have not offend you, or put you to sleep with my rant

no, you haven't offended me (I didn't begin snoozing though...........), and I respect your opinion as long as you respect mind. We obviously have 2 differen't viewpoints on this subject. I still stand firmly by my belief, though, and I heavily doubt you will change it. I've had this opinion since I was 5, and have not changed it. And, technically, I've been asked out 3 times before, and I refused them everytime. I'm not just making up excuses!

Honestly, though I think it's a waste of time, I only don't have one because:

I don't have the money.

I don't have a license, so I couldn't take anyone anywhere.

There is a girl I think who likes me a lot, though. :)
