I really wish people would stop trashing her. She's just a person!
Leave her ALONE.
I totally don't blame her for freaking out like that. She tries to have a life, but people are on her back, expecting her to be perfect, waiting for her to screw up.
And when she does, they all make a huge case out of it.
"OH, LOOK! BRITNEY SHAVED HER HEAD AND IS SICK OF PEOPLE. SHE'S A WHORE!"
Leave her alone.
I feel awful for her, and all my sympathy goes out to her.
She's just having a really hard time, and no one is making it easier.
I'd go ballistic and shave my head too, if I were in her situation. GOD.

Agreed, actually on all of the above. I found myself nodding to every post. Lol.
Yeah, I'm bald atm. Shaved my head about a week ago...bit longer maybe.
It's sad...I mean, she is obviously not very happy. But, yeah, i don't know her...and it really isn't any of my buisness. She DOES look quite nice though. I think it suits her. Especially with her dark eyemakeup. Really accentuates her eyes. And she has nice eyes.

I thought she was awesome back in 1999 when her career first started. She made it to #1 on MuchMusic for 5 weeks with "Hit Me Baby One More Time". Most MuchMusic #1s are only there for 1 or 2 weeks.
She also was half-decent on the Pepsi commercials.
But then she later became an overexposed, mass-produced-mass-consumed type celebrity pop-tart.
And by now I do believe that she has since exhausted her creative abilities and burned out her career and celebrity status.
Her time in the shining limelight has come and gone, and this is all we have left of her. A depressed and self-destructive Britney, a shadow of the once charismatic and powerful pop princess who pretty much ruled the airwaves from 1999 to 2004.
I hope she can put all this celebrity crap behind her, and live a normal life with the money she has left. It should only take about 2 years for her hair to be back to normal, 2 years should give her enough time to say a final farewell and thanks to all her fans, let her record company dismiss her, and then settle down and live a normal life.
I get the feeling that her music career needs to be laid to rest for her own good. If she decides to produce another CD/do more concerts, she may only be prolonging these problems.
I know I'd hate to be a celebrity myself. Especially one that manages to maintain a significant presence in the tabloids.

honestly, so she shaved her head,(just as DB said) so what?
Why do normal people have to go crazy if a famous person does something radical?
Pft!

If a man did it it wouldn't be as big of a deal.
For a woman, long hair represents glory.
It's pretty alarming when a woman gets a very short haircut, let alone being completely shaven. Remember what happened to the Felicity show or something like that?
When this happens, it's a warning sign. It's not just about hair. It's about what Britney feels inside. She may be giving us a warning/danger sign.
As to why we are concerned about what celebrities do: Celebrities have a big influence on society, like politicians/CEOs/etc. When they do something weird or screw up, it reflects on society as a whole.
Like, for instance, Pepsi had lots of celebrities in its commercials. Britney herself, Cindy Crawford, Shakira, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, etc. Pepsi has to spend piles of money to do this. But Pepsi knows the cultural impact of celebrities.
No it doesn't mean that all Britney fans are going to drink 2L of Pepsi every day. But it gives Pepsi more credibility, since Britney is a representative of society.
Example: When Tom Cruise did all that stuff with Scientology, it really made a lot of people aware and curious about it.

I stopped reading some of the posts, but I just have two things to say:
Justin-- "2 years to say farewell and blah dee blah blah blah"
No.
Celebrities don't DO that.
They aren't you.
Julie-- Johnny lives in France with his lovely wife Vanessa Paradis and his two kids.
And I agree--Keep stuff to yourself, and do it because you love it. Not because of the money or the fame.
<sigh> Most celebrities do it for money and whatever, and that's wrong. Very wrong, and shame on them.
They're so power hungry....

I too prefer girls that shave.

Celebrities are mostly people who have to be in the spotlight to feel loved, has nothing to do with the money. Britney went out of her way to get back into the spotlight recently, no panties and not trying to cover up etc.
I don't feel sorry for her at all, she wanted this mess and now she has it, enjoy.

Speaking of THAT actually...That's my theme for my major artwork for this year...
You don't think that's slightly pedaphelic? Desiring a prepubescent image?
