I'm hear asking for a friend. Here's the description he gave me...Ring any bells?
"t came out somewhere around 91 or 92, I think. It (inaccurately) billed itself as a virtual reality game. It was what you'd call a 3rd person shooter, perhaps? It had an overhead view of your little animated guy as he walked from room to room, kind of like the original Castle Wolfenstein game.
The premise was that you'd been sent into some high-tech company's high-rise building to stop its creations from running amuck and killing everybody inside. There were two primary enemies - a red bouncing ball (easy to kill), and a blue cylinder (fast and hard to kill--it liked to decapitate people). There was also some shape-shifting humanoid form that liked disguising itself as furniture--it would chase you around the room, and you needed multiple grenades to kill it.
Your weaponry consisted of the aforementioned grenades (which you had in limited supply--had to find them like in Wolfenstein), as well as a gun that shot a pinkish laser, which you could bounce off some walls to take out the bad guys.
You find random people who tell you helpful bits of information and you save them by destroying the baddies in the room, after which the people run out of the room. You get some kind of bonus for this, I think?
Towards the end of the game, you learn about a bomb in the building, and you need to get out through a 10th floor exit or something, and escape in an escape pod.""
early 90's game - like original Wolfenstein
