I unfortunately don't remember where the background and WinAMP skin are from ... I suspect its either www.deviantart.com or www.deskmod.com because those are the skin/background sites that I frequent most. Even if that's not where I got 'em from those are great sites nonetheless.

The skin (it's a WinXP skin that looks pretty close to the Mac OSX look) I probably got from www.themexp.org but that site is usually pretty slow nowadays. An alternative if that site isn't working is www.winxptheme.com. Note that you must have WinXP and have installed the patch available from TGTSoft (www.tgtsoft.com/download.asp) in order to use "Visual Styles" aka WinXP skins. (Get the UxTheme Util, not StylesXP.)

The thing on the desktop is called CoolMON (coolmon.arsware.org). It's very customizable, with plugins you can do stuff like have it tell you the weather, or what MP3 is playing, or other stuff. My setup is pretty basic.

The IM client is Trillian (www.trillian.cc). It's using another Mac OSX type skin. Trillian is a free client that lets you use multiple IM's (like ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, MSN and IRC) all from one program. There's also a pay "Pro" version that's not really much different from the free one.

The icons were done using the IconPackager program (www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager) ... the icons I'm using are iCandy XP (www.foood.net/icons/xp-icandy.htm).

Whew I think that's it. Before this my desktop was all in dark greys and black ... figured it was time for a change
