Actually, there are so many people in this world who speak English poorly that the language has kind of adapted. For example, there are 7,000(!) colloquial "Spanglish" words in use, and quite a few taken from other languages too.
I can understand someone speaking broken English than most people can understand me speaking broken Spanish/French/German/whatever.
