8088 and 8086 are fit for the trash because of lack of 1.44 MB floppy support (unless you already have lots of games on it).
you can get external ones though.

That's right - IF you have the space. That is another reason I don't understand the point of keeping machines as old as XT or AT - the space they occupy compared to what they contribute simply makes it not worth it.
I do have 5 PCs in my house now:
* P4 1.8GHZ Laptop with WinXP (the one I'm typing from)
* My main machine - P4 2.8GHZ with Win2K (might upgrade to 3GHZ today, and install WinXP)
* AMD-K6 475MHZ with Win98 - I use it to play DOS games and some Windows games which work on it, and in general, since it works and can be very useful for stuff like Office work, Internet browsing, gaming - I didn't throw it away
* Pentium 200MHZ with DOS 6.22 - To play DOS games that don't work on the K6, and once I get the router I want, I'll be able to connect it to the K6 and play multiplayer DOOM and stuff like that.
* Cyrix 6x86 133MHZ - My dad's PC, which he uses for his work, because he still prefers to use Windows 3.11.
So you see, if I tried to stick in another antique, my mom would probably kill me.

The old Computers are not garbage. Just becuse they are old, does not mean
that U though it away! ? Do you through away you'r granpa just becuse he is
old, no I don't think so. Some of the old computers can only run that old program
you dug out of the shed. For example if you have a 5 1/2 inch disk, good luck
playing it on that windows 95, for iit could easly crash you'r video card, if it was
A game with cga graghics, or even ega cold destroy that new video card, &
you noo what, you would not beable to use that computer any more, cuse it is
more likely to be an onboard video, sooo you'r left in the dark.
