gf4mx is direct x 9 compatable... it just lacks pixel shaders and hardware TnL.Unknown_K wrote:Anything with MX in the model number by Nvidia sucks. I got the 9000 ATI new for $69 shipped and it has dx 8.1 all in hardware (unlike the gf4mx and gf2).
There are faster cards but for the features and money spent the 9000 was a good deal.
my current card is a geforce 6600gt pcie 128mb and it sucks for new games like nfsmw but runs fine for ut2k4....

Currently my video card is ATI Raedeon 9600 Series. (Gigabyte)
It is 256 MB DDR (AGP)
It supports both analog and digital monitors, and has TV Out.
Prior to that it was ATI Raedeon 9550 SE (Sapphire)
It was 128 MB DDR (AGP)
It supported both analog and digital monitors and had TV Out.
Within the next few months I will probably upgrade it to 512MB!
Both cards support DirectX 9.0c however didn't need to install.

I thought we were suposed to talk about graphic cards used in dos machines, but maybe "I make error stupid"
On my main PC I have a Leadtek 7600GT (gpu@560Mhz, 256*dd3@1400Mhz, 128-bit).
On my dos-machine a have a S3 Trio 3D / 4MB Ram and a 3dfx Voodoo2 accellerator. The problem is that I never figured out how to use it under DOS, so Carmageddon is still crappy.
