or, you could say that they are the same being, but differently percepted by different cultural groups.
so, after all, all the main religions believe that there is one God. That that God is omnipotent, and the creator of everything and everyone. thats all that counts. thats why I think those experts are right about this.
Lemme make an example out of this, even though a little banale.
A serial killer gets thrown in prison for life, after murdering a family. after 50 years, when the news of his death by old age gets on the newspapers, people talk about him. "you remember that guy, Abe? he was that red-headed bloke who gunned down that family back in the JFK days. you remember him?" , "yeah, Moe, I remember him, but his hair was blonde, not red-headed." they are talking about the same person, but during those 50 years things have changed in their memories. hence the distinctions.

I agree with the idea that all religions have some truth in them. Many different religions have a lot of valuable and valid ideas.

However, in the example you gave, his hair was really only one color. (Assuming for this example he never dyed it or something ) One person is right, and the other is wrong. (Or they're both wrong.) The thing is that since we all believe in objective truth (being able to function in daily life demands it) there must be certain truths about God as well. Since different religions have different sets of beliefs, some must be closer to the truth than others.

Moreover, if God wanted himself to be known to us, I would think (and this is my own finite thinking so it may well be wrong) that he would reveal himself in ways that, despite cultural differences, we would be able to know and experience the truth about Him (or "It", whatever).

As always, just some random thoughts, my 2 cents worth ... don't take anything I say too seriously

That's what I was trying to figure out. Why he would let it currupt. NOT saying it is. Wouldn't Jesus try to tell Paul that what he was going to do is wrong, or act upon it. Why would he let it just, break. He knew Judas was going to betray him.

BTW: I started this after I finnished one of my studies on foriegn religons. I guess there not very foriegn in America.

Yup, that was exactly my point Something like:

bible = true;
}
else

bible = false;
}

........ hmm I've been doing too much coding today Nevertheless the above still holds. Its boolean; the Bible is either true or false, not "mostly true" or something of that sort.

if ( jesus == "God" ) { bible = true; }
else { bible = false; }

Depends on my mood Actually, for one-line statements like that, I will usually leave the brackets off altogether:

if ( jesus == "God" ) bible = true;
else bible = false;

Eh I'm not adament about it like some people ... I worked in teams with people who were crazy about their brackets, and indenting, and stuff

I'm reading the Apocrypha at the moment, and I was wondering about somthings.

1. Some of these verses look like they should not have been taken out, no?

2. Don't the Catholics use the Apocrypha in the their Bible?
