Me guess that it's still ok, it's the installed folder that is screwed up somehow (don't ask me how, no idea, really not).
Simply delete the 'sierra' folder and reinstall the game, should be OK then.
And forget the 'bat' edit things, it's pretty obvious by now it ain't your thing.
Simply input the mount lines manually. Gives you typing exercise.
