Yeah I'm not sure what's wrong with their clients they don't seem to get nick alerts, the nick you’re using should receive alerts by default. I have extra alerts set (Such as alternate nicks I use/that people call me e.g. TSM works the same as The_Sinister_Mastermind), so later on I’ll walk them through how to set an alert and maybe that’ll fix it, still, odd that the names they’re using don’t work by default.
Oh and doing what DB suggested is a sure fire way to get my attention, that or bring bare-naked ladies, whichever works best.

I have been short of time lately but i will be able to use hamachi either this week or next week. What games do people usually play on hamachi. The only 3d shooting games i play now are quake, doom and wolfenstein 3d. I will buy a game that a lot of people usually play on hamachi but i don't know what games have been hugely popular on hamachi. Keep in mind that i can only play games from before 2002 on this machine. I can install a demo version of a game but i will not install a demo game or anything on the internet if it is over 100mb's. The biggest thing i installed on the internet was 55 mb's and that was the freeware version of star gunner. Filefront is the place to go for demo games.

Well... recently some of the Hamachi users were playing DOOM2... but you must know, it has a distance lag that will make you scratch your eyeballs out... so... where do you live?

I live in canada in a small town called sudbury which is known for mining. It is very hard to find dos games. I have been searching for months for the full versions of either doom or doom 2. Finding a dos game is like a very good day. Just finding a dos game is very hard excluding tomb raider and the sierra collections dos games are extremly unlikely to find. Whenever a dos game gets in stores it sells very quickly. I got extremly lucky to find The Need For Speed. I play mainly demo, shareware and freeware dos games. They sell many copies of tomb raider 1 but none of doom.

Unlike you Queenslanders, us people from NSW aren't into nasty shit like that.

It says hamachi is already detected on my machine but i looked through the computer files and it is not their. I installed the thing and set the thing then got rid of it and reinstalled and now it won't work. I did not know if this hamachi thing is actually useful than i changed my mind. I can't use the program now.

Well, I MAY be wrong on this one, but I don't think Hamachi works with Windows versions prior to XP....

remove the hamachi network from your computer manually... its classed as a network adapter and should be in "start -> settings -> control panel -> system -> hardware" or "start -> settings -> control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager"
depends on if your in win9x or winXP

Hamachi doesn't work on Win9x... only XP... but I don't know about ME and 2K

while we're talking about hooking up LAN's and such, I just want to vent that one of my fav games ever (which was FAR too short) has the worst freaking internet support i've ever seen. Either that or I'm incompetent when it comes to LAN. Possible AND probable, but I'd like to blame someone else.
---BTW the game is Fallout Tactics.
Thnx for the vent.
