Need help with Sound Blaster 16

Ok, yesterday my brother and me were backing up remaining floppy disk with a nifty little Linux program my brother made. It makes images of floppies and put them on a usb flash drive. We were able to successfully (at least with out any disk read errors) back up the MS-DOS 5.0 installer, the Windows 3.1 installer, After Dark (the screen saver package), something about a club (he labeled it "really embarrassing stuff"), and then we get to Sound Blaster 16 drivers. Being the person who knows nothing about what's in the black hole known as my brother's room, I go WTF.
He then explains to me that we had one of the crappiest 486s that ever existed thanks to my family being poor in the 90's (50 MHz processor WTL!). We were going to throw it out the 486 with the SB 16 in it, but my brother saved right before we throw it in the dumpster (yes, my dad is a pack rat. He collected so much junk we had to rent a dumpster to throw all the junk we didnt need out). And it's been sitting in anti-static paper for all these years inside his closet.
Now we put it in the IBM we set up with Windows 98 installed on it (we were going to install DOS, but 98 was already on it so it's good enough) and we install the 98 drivers from the 98 install CD. Everything was fine until I found out only music would come out of the SB 16 speaker port. All the other stuff (voices, sound effect, ect.) would come out of the PC Speaker. Is there anything you can do to help me? This is really annoying.
