Audacity!
I've used it several times, it's good for your daily audio-editing, but you'll have to get lame_enc.dll by yourself(simple enough, Wally could do it
), if you plan on converting/saving as mp3[s].

Smartass yourself.
lame_enc.dll is a COPYRIGHTED DLL.
Nothing to do with windows or mac or linux.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/fa ... m=lame-mp3
To use audacity on a Mac as excellent MP3 applic you also MUST download lame_enc.dll separately.
Even if it's freeware you need special authorisation if you want to include that DLL with your application.

Aaaaah, shut up, macnut. <img src="

Another fine editor is DDClip:

Not as easy in use as Audacity but .... not bad at all.

ORLY? And may we know what you won?
You also have to download lame_enc.dll separately if you want to use it with audacity.
Feeling swell Wally?
You know, I really begin to wonder if you even know what the lame_encoder is or even where it came from.
In fact I really begin to wonder if you know anything.[Now yeah, agreed, you know the last half of darkness.....)
Meheh.
***********************************************************
More seriously, what you won?
I don't get it.

Wally, Wally, Wally ...
Wally, you have *.libc, *.libkvm, *.libdl, *.libinfo..... files, that's the same thing with another extension.
Those are
dynamic shared libraries for Mac.
It's the same principle of the *.DLL files on win.
Mac OS X uses the .dylib extension for those.
To use the audacity MP3 encoder on his best you will have to download separately libmp3lame.dylib.
That's the lame_enc.dll for MacX.
There are other MP3 encoders, but the Lame encoder is probably on of the best thing you can get.
Wally, Wally, Wally ....... Do you think I know nothing of Mac systems?
Shut up Gamer_V

It's too bad soundforge isn't freeware. It really doesn't take much knowledge to use this program. I honestly haven't tried your programs that you all recommend in this thread. I'd like to hear some feedback.
