I can't stand it anymore!

Some of you mods and an admin are taking this stuff too far. Why lock a topic JUST because its been revived? Whoopdy-do? The only ones who care about useless posts are you all...us regular members don't mind much. You guys stop abusing the power and just let us have some fun!

Dogbreath supported TD, though, and he's above us.....

It's okay to speak your mind. If you have a problem with the way we run this place and refuse to be even the slightest bit polite, leave. If you wish that we lighten the rules some, feel free to speak to dogbreath concerning this matter.

Winger: You have a point, Thunderdog shouldn't be so trigger happy... however, I believe the locking of that topic was justified in that it served no purpose whatsoever. If you really want to keep up the chatter... then ask one of the mods to move it to a new topic.

Thunderdog: kindness and restraint are both virtues, so we must be careful not to have a gung-ho killdemall attitude about modding, it gets old REAAL fast.

This is my view on reviving old posts: It's fine, as long as you have a reason to do it. It's probably better than starting a new topic with the exact same subject. But don't just say "BUMP!". That's gay.

And with that in mind, computer_person had a completely reasonable reason to dig it up:
computer_person wrote:AOL Sucks!! My suggestion that you switch to some other ISP ASAP!!! Do not trust the pop-up blocker. I've heard nothing but problems with AOL and this is no execption.
Would you rather have a topic devoted to how bad AOL is? AGAIN? I swear we've already had at least 3 AOL-related topics.

Also, another reason I don't think TD should have locked that topic is (and this is my own opinion) because Dogbreath had already posted and he's a higher power than TD. If an admin has no problem with it, why should a mod? Common sense.

You have a good point there Da_Goat. Just lock the topic up so I can keep my big fat mouth shut about the topic.

In my opinion, I think we'd be better off without TD and/or Kazer0 as mods, we've got enough already, even with Goat leaving. TD's locking finger is starting to get on my nerves, and no-one should worry too much about topics in the 'Off-Topic' section; if there are posts in it that do not contain profainity etc. but the topic is soley devoted to being pointless, then don't lock it, but do lock it if somone has spamed a serious topic.

For example, computer_person has gone against (to a lesser extent) what I think should be in place by posting his stupid crap here.

This is unlocked, there's actually useful discussion here, but if you want to bitch about AOL, make a topic.

*revs up for a rant.*
computer_person wrote:HEY!! I am just expressing my OPINION about AOL, which I HAVE the right!!!
Sir, you have NO rights. I OWN YOU. The ability to post in this forum is completely a PRIVALEGE that can, btw, be taken away for any reason whatsoever including the oh so famous "I just felt like it." You see, at the moment you probably think that your right to free speech means that you can say what you want. CLUE: that right only applies to PUBLIC institutions and by no means has any affect on this website. You have no right to do or say ANYTHING that we say you can't within the jurisdiction of this website-mainly because we don't have time to listen to idiots bitch about pointless topics.
If you want to bitch about it, fine, but nothing will stop me from expressing my thought of the topic!!!
Of course not, go ahead and express anything you want to... BUT NOT ON THIS WEBSITE. From what I've heard,
Tripod
offers excellent web hosting... see if you can't get your own website to rant your cause on. In the meantime, obey our rules about posting or don't post at all.

I apologize for my burst of anger. I was just furious at the time and needed to get it out of my system. Dogbreath, I make my apology mostly toward you, because, at the time, I was not respecting the rules of this fourm. Next time I WILL control my anger and not disrespect the rules set on this fourm.
