CRICKEY - New Flash Movie

Post by Santhosh CHRiS »

Hiya!! For those of you who are wondering why no comic strips recently... or rather for those of you who are quite relieved there ARE no comic strips lately, I've been devoting any free time I get off of work in finishing this movie called 'CRICKEY' which isn't a video game based movie sadly, but still involves a game or rather a sport anyway called 'Cricket' I actually made for an actor friend of mine with plans of getting it on Indian TV for National Handicapped day or something.

Anywayz I uploaded it to Newgrounds (for some weird reason) to test it out for bugs and so far everything seems ok.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/446934

Description: The talents of a handicapped substitute cricket player's gets overlooked by his own team captain during the final few balls of a close match with just 1 wicket (out) left.

This is just to hold you back until I start churning out my legendary strips again hopefully by the end of this week. :D

I really liked this! :D I was kind of sceptic because I wasn't a that big fan of your Dave flashes, but you've improved a lot. The animation is good and the music is spot on, but what's impressive is that you really made something... believable. The ending was a bit predictable, but it put a smile to my face nontheless.

More please.

Hey thanks man! Glad you liked it. And btw I think I only made ONE Dave flash.... the rest were all gifs lol and boy oh boy watching them now makes me laugh to see how lame they were but hey everyone starts somewhere right

Btw do you play or follow cricket by any chance? I'm a huge fan ot it myself My favorite sport. We've even got our own little team here and a local ground where we play matches. I'm a pretty decent bowler.... not so good with the batting :suspicious:

It's strange but infact we had a handicapped guy on our team and man he'd whack the ball in the right places and save us during crucial times. He batted and kept wickets pretty well too.

All my knowledge of cricket comes from Monty Python I'm afraid. :P

That was actually really awesome. The fact that there's no dialogue, but you know exactly what is going on, and the emotions being expressed and such. Really well done, and the end was totally unexpected and great. Awesome job!

It's an unknown sport (sport ...?) over here in W-Europ.
Think it's only practiced in England.

Ya Cricket is the best!! And I have to admit it Australia has well ruled over the sport for over almost a decade now in both Test and One Day matches... except in Twenty20 Cricket which India are World Cup Winners heh heh.... please don't take that away from us too :(

Btw I uploaded it to Youtube :D

Oops sorry didn't notice this post by Wardrich. Yes this was infact the most difficult task in making this. I was first in a dilema whether to make the characters talk or not but thought some piece of the movie would miss if someone didn't understand the dialouge (this has happened to me at times) and I'd have to put subtitles and stuff which would spoil the overall look of the cartoon. I repeatedly tested this movie on a number of friends even without sound itself and asked them if they could figure out what was going on. Thanks for noticing this important aspect, and my apologies for the double post.

Actually I'm waiting for YOUR website to get really popular some day so I can start posting my singing (and dancing) vids in it and make everyone go away leaving you broke after you pay up all the bandwidth bills and I'll be like "Mwa ha ha ha..." or something like that :suspicious:
