Hugo 2 and 3 .exe help

Ok, I'm not exactly computer literate, but I did figure out how to download all 3 Hugo games, unzip them, place them in C:, download DOSBox, learn how to start the commands, etc.
I got Hugo 1 to run with the hhh.exe command, which I found in the Manual in the game file.

Now, I know HOW to do all that, but for some reason, both Hugo 2 and 3 have the same command for starting the program: HUGO.exe

I've tried EVERYTHING my little computer novice brain can think of, and no matter what I do, I CANNOT get Hugo 2 or 3 to start.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you install all 3 games into the same folder? Or do you have like

c:\hugo1
c:\hugo2
c:\hugo3

I have them all in sepreate sub folders, but all three are in one C: folder. That's what the DOSBox tutorial said to do with all the games, it said the put them in a C: folder, his was "Old Games" and I named mine "old"

Okay, so we'll start with Hugo 2 and go from there...

Start off by mounting your drive:
mount c: c:\old

Feel free to change the mount letter if you want

Go to your newly mounted C drive
c:

Change Directory to your "old\hugo2" directory
cd \HUGO2~1 (note that you can probably just type hug and hit tab a few times until it gets to the right directory)

Or whatever you called the Hugo 2 folder

Fire up the installer by loading the executable file
hugo2

Install with defaults

Fire up Hugo 2 by loading the executable

SHAMBOLA! This game is fun up until you get to that frigging maze. Then you'll probably want to quit and play Hugo 3.

Just type in all the Bolded lines and you should be good to go! To get to the game in the future, just cd to \old\hugo2~1\ then type "hugo" to start your game. Hope this helps!
