90's platform shooting game [Bio Menace]

Alright guys so there was this PC game I played sometime around 2000 or 2001 I reckon, A guy wearing blue jeans and white tee I think, using a laser gun to shoot aliens/ weird creatures (they looked like jelly or amoeba or something). Platform game, he could walk/run, jump, climb stairs.
I briefly remember climbing stairs attached to red walls, getting on the balcony and killing off enemies. Please give me even the closest thing you can remember.

Definitely not Duke Nukem. Not Dave as well. I'd say the character was a bit more taller than dave, and background was more open world type.
It did not include jumping from block to block like Dangerous Dave. Only walking, climbing, shooting.

I'd say the character looked very similar to the guy in Pickle wars.
The game looked more like Pickle wars than Dave.

This is a screenshot from Dangerous Dave 2. Just to show a representation, it looked VERY MUCH like this. More open world based.
