DOS Games Discussion

Dear Gamers

I followed advice given but have still had no luck in running The 7th Guest.

Now when I go to run the game, here is what I get. It's double dutch to me as I don't understand DOS. Maybe someone can help me fathom it out.

Error: pcm sound hardware not found at port/irq in groovie.ini Please check that you have set up groovie.ini and that you have no hardware conflicts.


I have no conflicts, and I have a soundblaster compatible soundcard. I had no problems installing the game.

The game is installed here C:\ID\T7G

Hoping someone can shed some light on my problem. I get the above error message when I try to run the game.

Thanks in advance, anything would be helpful as long as it's easy to follow instructions.

Run setup.exe (or setsound.exe) in directory and change settings.
Default port's to SB's 220h and IRQ 5 or 7.
