I could not finish any of the HUGO games. I suck.

Like the part with the venus flytraps, anytime you take a step further on the bridge, stop and save. What worked for me was this: get yourself lined up with what you think would allow you to walk straight across the bridge in a straight line. Then put the matches down, and try to walk across the bridge. Tweak your position until you can get right across in a straight line, and pick the matches up again. Walk across the bridge, put the matches down, get off the bridge, and pick em up again.
