Yeah, I'd go with that. Lines like, "And she said ’we are all just prisoners here, of our own device’" and "But they just can’t kill the beast" would suggest an addiction of some sort...

Maybe something to do with sex? I get the feeling of a brothel, with the repetition of the woman throughout and the description of "Mirrors on the ceiling,

it started form "the warm smell of cloitas" which is "little buds' in mexican or spanish
