Anzu Castle Gracula is a charming modern DOS game which could be broadly placed in the "Metroidvania" genre. The game features lovely NES-like graphics and a catchy MIDI-like soundtrack. Exploration is key, as the game is non-linear, although you will of course need to visit certain areas first to gain access to others. Overall it's a very polished game that fans of classics in the genre will appreciate. Source code in QuickBasic is freely available.
