DOSGames.com Review: Rating: 2
Oozes is a game made in QuickBasic that features stiff controls, but somehow feels like it has redeeming value. The goal is to shoot a box, then collect a key, then get to the exit door. You must do this while avoiding or shooting slimes (the "oozes"!) that are trying to kill you. The levels seem to be randomly generated so the game will be different every time you play. Not necessarily "fair" though as you might start a level with a slime right above you! The main issue with the game is the aforementioned controls, which are stiff beyond belief. Moving your wizard character around is a chore, and "flying" is basically moving straight up since you can't fly and move left or right at the same time. Despite this major challenge the game is still playable once you get used to it. Source code is included.
