DOSGames.com Review: Rating: 3
Spy is an action / puzzle / adventure game created in QBasic using ASCII characters and simple objects and rules. It includes a single player adventure mode (press Enter twice from the main menu) where "you play a spy that has been hired to infiltrate a evil scientist's laboratory" as well as a random level generator and an editor to make your own levels. The gameplay is pretty basic, avoiding or shooting the three kinds of enemies, collecting the necessary keys and optional treasures, and finally getting to the exit. The random levels add some variety after you finish the adventure mode, however they are truly random so don't expect roguelike quality. Also I'm not aware of any user-generated levels available, but the editor is still a neat touch that isn't included in a lot of other games of this sort, especially not made in QBasic.
