Tommy's Trek is one of many Star Trek type games released for DOS. It is, I think, the first of MANY Tommy's Toys games released starting in the mid 80's. It is a clone of earlier Star Trek strategy games that goes back as early as 1971. This game seems to have a lot of the bells and whistles that other trek games from its time has, although it does have one prominent feature that others don't: It can play itself. Autoplay is enabled by default when you start the game, and must be disabled by pressing the F9 key before you can play. It's really a bit confusing and you'll likely need to reference the included TREK.DOC to make much sense of what's going on. (The TOMTREK.ZIP file is from 1992, but I couldn't find an older copy which was complete; I did see an executable from 1986 but this copy has all of the other docs and related files.)
